Approach
WBI activities are adapted to the individual needs of countries. The WBI Governance Program first develops a wide set of governance and anti-corruption indicators; and the Knowledge for Development (W4D) program evaluates a country's preparedness for the knowledge era. From these assessments, specific action plans are developed on a country-by-country basis.

Famous quotes containing the word approach:
“Fishermen, hunters, woodchoppers, and others, spending their lives in the fields and woods, in a peculiar sense a part of Nature themselves, are often in a more favorable mood for observing her, in the intervals of their pursuits, than philosophers or poets even, who approach her with expectation. She is not afraid to exhibit herself to them.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Oh! mystery of man, from what a depth
Proceed thy honours. I am lost, but see
In simple childhood something of the base
On which thy greatness stands; but this I feel,
That from thyself it comes, that thou must give,
Else never canst receive. The days gone by
Return upon me almost from the dawn
Of life: the hiding-places of mans power
Open; I would approach them, but they close.”
—William Wordsworth (17701850)
“Let me approach at least, and touch thy hand.
[Samson:] Not for thy life, lest fierce remembrance wake
My sudden rage to tear thee joint by joint.
At distance I forgive thee, go with that;
Bewail thy falsehood, and the pious works
It hath brought forth to make thee memorable
Among illustrious women, faithful wives:
Cherish thy hastnd widowhood with the gold
Of Matrimonial treason: so farewel.”
—John Milton (16081674)
