It is now one of the most highly regulated forms of marketing. Some or all forms of tobacco advertising are banned in many countries.

Famous quotes containing the words tobacco and/or advertising:

Sure smokers have made personal choices. And they pay for those choices every day, whether sitting through an airline flight dying for a smoke, or dying for a smoke in the oncology wing of a hospital. The tobacco companies have not paid nearly enough for the killing.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)

Remove advertising, disable a person or firm from preconising [proclaiming] its wares and their merits, and the whole of society and of the economy is transformed. The enemies of advertising are the enemies of freedom.
    J. Enoch Powell (b. 1912)
