Zaland

Zaland (From old Iranian languages: زلاند) is an old Iranian Bactrian word common in middle Persian, regional Dari-Persian, Eastern Iranian languages like Ossetian and Afghani Pashtu. The meaning was derived from middle Persian and has maintained more usage among Dari-Persian, some East-Iranians, and Afghan Pashtu speakers: the word means Shine'/Twinkling'. It is also common by cultural definition among Tajiki-Persian (Dari), Uzbeki, Pashto, Baluchi, Luri, and etc. Although, most Zaland surnames mainly speak only Eastern-Persian, commonly referred to as the Dari-Persian dialect.
