Xhezair Zaganjori, a member of the Constitutional Court has been named by the governing coalition as their compromise candidate for the post of president. As the Socialist Party rejected Zaganjori, the election is likely to be successful in the fourth (of five) round of voting, as only then a simply majority is sufficient. As expected, the first round of voting on 30 May 2012 failed without a vote. So, the name introduced by allies within the government, Xhezair Zaganjori, was not at all introduced in the voting because, after the first three rounds determine the minimum of 84 votes to elect him. The Speaker of Parliament, Jozefina Topalli, stated that the Conference of Chairman, will meet to determine a second date for a second round of presidential elections.
