Famous quotes containing the words royal, society and/or artists:

Farewell the neighing steed and the shrill trump,
The spirit-stirring drum, th’ ear-piercing fife,
The royal banner and all quality,
Pride, pomp, and circumstance of glorious war!
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

He is as antisocial as a flea. Clearly, such people are undesirable, and a society in which they can flourish has something wrong with it.
    George Orwell (1903–1950)

We artists are indestructible; even in a prison, or in a concentration camp, I would be almighty in my own world of art, even if I had to paint my pictures with my wet tongue on the dusty floor of my cell.
    Pablo Picasso (1881–1973)
