Queensland Motorways

Queensland Motorways is company wholly owned by the Government of Queensland, Australia which operates and owns the Gateway Bridge and 20 km of the Gateway Motorway, Gateway Extension and Logan Motorway. The company began operating in 1980.

Since 2009 it has operated the go via toll collection system, a rebranding of the previous E Toll system. As well as accepting tags introduced by E Toll, new methods of paying the toll have also been introduced. Queensland Motorways is delivering the Gateway Upgrade Project, which when completed will be the largest road and bridge infrastructure project in Queensland's history.

On 2 June 2009, the government announced the 'Renewing Queensland Plan' that would sell assets to raise $15 billion, and avoid a further $12 billion required in future capital investment. Queensland Motorways is included in this process, the tolling rights will be leased via a competitive bidding process for a franchise of up to 50 years, commencing in 2011. The Government will retain ownership of the physical infrastructure, and future toll increases will be limited by legislation.
