Fictional Character Biography
Quasimodo was originally a computer created by the Mad Thinker in his laboratory in California's Mojave Desert, and later abandoned by him. The computer was later discovered by the Silver Surfer. Feeling pity for Quasimodo's desire to be human, the Surfer gave him a partly organic, semi-humanoid cyborg body. Quasimodo became enraged by his feeling of inferiority compared to the Silver Surfer's more perfect body, and battled the Silver Surfer. He was ultimately rendered immobile by the Surfer.
Quasimodo eventually regained his mobility. He attempted a takeover of Cape Canaveral's computer systems, and battled Captain Marvel. Quasimodo next attempted to steal the Beast's life-force as part of an effort to make himself more human. Quasimodo attempted dominance of the world's computer systems, and battled Spider-Man and Hawkeye. Quasimodo then employed an Iron Man robot in a scheme to tap the energy of the Baxter Building to regain his mobility. He stole a spacecraft from the Fantastic Four and used it to attempt to travel to a Xandarian power source.
Quasimodo's intellect was beamed back to the Earth, where he took refuge in a deactivated computer system in Khystym, Russia. He allied with the Dire Wraiths against the Galadorian Spaceknight Rom. Quasimodo projected his "mental essence" into Rom's armor. Another Spaceknight, Brandy Clark (the second Starshine) drove Quasimodo's essence from Rom's armor, and he became trapped in a Soviet computer system. Quasimodo was later driven out of the Earth computer system by the Vision, and his consciousness was expelled into space.
Through unknown means, Quasimodo returned to Earth and set up shop at a base in Cuba as seen in the Dark Reign storyline. It was here that he was captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. who was assisted by the mercenary Mainframe at the behest of Norman Osborn. Quasimodo then entered Norman Osborn's service as an analyst, compiling dossiers on numerous superhumans with most of the dossiers being about the known supervillains.

Famous quotes containing the words fictional, character and/or biography:
“One of the proud joys of the man of lettersif that man of letters is an artistis to feel within himself the power to immortalize at will anything he chooses to immortalize. Insignificant though he may be, he is conscious of possessing a creative divinity. God creates lives; the man of imagination creates fictional lives which may make a profound and as it were more living impression on the worlds memory.”
—Edmond De Goncourt (18221896)
“I prize the purity of his character as highly as I do that of hers. As a moral being, whatever it is morally wrong for her to do, it is morally wrong for him to do. The fallacious doctrine of male and female virtues has well nigh ruined all that is morally great and lovely in his character: he has been quite as deep a sufferer by it as woman, though mostly in different respects and by other processes.”
—Angelina Grimké (18051879)
“In how few words, for instance, the Greeks would have told the story of Abelard and Heloise, making but a sentence of our classical dictionary.... We moderns, on the other hand, collect only the raw materials of biography and history, memoirs to serve for a history, which is but materials to serve for a mythology.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
