Manifold Learning Algorithms
Some of the more prominent manifold learning algorithms are listed below (in approximately chronological order). An algorithm may learn an internal model of the data, which can be used to map points unavailable at training time into the embedding in a process often called out-of-sample extension.

Famous quotes containing the words manifold and/or learning:
“The Lord wrote it all down on the little slate
Of the baby tortoise.
Outward and visible indication of the plan within,
The complex, manifold involvedness of an individual creature”
—D.H. (David Herbert)
“Every act of conscious learning requires the willingness to suffer an injury to ones self-esteem. That is why young children, before they are aware of their own self-importance, learn so easily; and why older persons, especially if vain or important, cannot learn at all.”
—Thomas Szasz (b. 1920)
