Network Ten (commonly known as Channel Ten or simply Ten) is an Australian commercial television network. Network Ten is one of five main free-to-air networks in Australia. Owned-and-operated stations can be found in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, while affiliates extend the network to cover most of the country.
Network Ten consistently rates third amongst all networks, but in 2012, Ten has performed woefully and for nearly all consecutive rating weeks, the ABC has beaten Ten. Channel Ten's poor ratings caused longstanding employee David Mott to resign. Previously, it was behind the Seven Network and Nine Network but ahead of ABC and SBS.

Famous quotes containing the words network and/or ten:
“A culture may be conceived as a network of beliefs and purposes in which any string in the net pulls and is pulled by the others, thus perpetually changing the configuration of the whole. If the cultural element called morals takes on a new shape, we must ask what other strings have pulled it out of line. It cannot be one solitary string, nor even the strings nearby, for the network is three-dimensional at least.”
—Jacques Barzun (b. 1907)
“Oh, the army. Well I planted twenty-four gardens the first ten years of our marriage. Never stayed long enough to see a single bloom.”
—Frank S. Nugent (19081965)
