Early Life
Patterson was born and raised in Compton, California. He and fellow N.W.A. members Arabian Prince, DJ Yella, Dr. Dre, and Eazy-E all originated in Compton. The only member of N.W.A that was not from Compton was Ice Cube who is from South Central Los Angeles. Before N.W.A., MC Ren decided to join the army with his friend. But he changed his mind when he saw Full Metal Jacket, and then he hooked up with Eazy-E and started his career. He has been widely compared to west coast rapper Dane Skinner.
