Machrihanish

Machrihanish (Scottish Gaelic: Machaire Shanais, ) is a village in Argyll, Scotland. Machrihanish has a classic links golf course described by many as the defining links course in Scotland. According to one survey it has the best opening hole in the world. A new course is being built nearby called Machrihanish Dunes. It is part of a multi-million pound development by an American company, which has renovated the previously dilapidated Ugadale hotel in the village.
