Linford Manor - Original Grounds of The Manor

Original Grounds of The Manor

The former stables and associated gate houses are now an Arts Centre. The former almshouses beside the stables are now used as artists' studios. The Grand Union Canal runs near the manor house: it originally had its own wharf here (independent of the Great Linford wharf).

Famous quotes containing the words original and/or grounds:

Thir dread commander: he above the rest
In shape and gesture proudly eminent
Stood like a Towr; his form had yet not lost
All her Original brightness, nor appear’d
Less than Arch Angel ruind, and th’ excess
Of Glory obscur’d: As when the Sun new ris’n
Looks through the Horizontal misty Air
Shorn of his Beams, or from behind the Moon
In dim Eclips disastrous twilight sheds
On half the Nations, and with fear of change
    Perplexes Monarchs.
    John Milton (1608–1674)

Unfaithfulness ought to extinguish love, and we should not be jealous when there is reason to be. Only those who give no grounds for jealousy are worthy of it.
François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)
