Famous quotes containing the words line, matrix and/or printer:
“I said: A line will take us hours maybe;
Yet if it does not seem a moments thought,
Our stitching and unstitching has been naught.”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
“As all historians know, the past is a great darkness, and filled with echoes. Voices may reach us from it; but what they say to us is imbued with the obscurity of the matrix out of which they come; and try as we may, we cannot always decipher them precisely in the clearer light of our day.”
—Margaret Atwood (b. 1939)
“Now William pulled the lever down,
And click-clack went the printing-press.
William was the only printer in town
Who had peeped while the angels undress.”
—Allen Tate (18991979)
