King's College London School of Medicine

King's College London School of Medicine is the medical school of King's College London, one of the United Hospitals, and one of the most prestigious medical schools in the UK. The school has campuses at three world class institutions, Guy's Hospital (Southwark), King's College Hospital (Lambeth) and St Thomas' Hospital (Lambeth) in London. The school in its current guise was formed following a merger with the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals in August 1998.

The medical school as a whole is the largest in Europe. It has an annual intake of around 335 places on the standard MBBS Programme, 50 places on the Extended Medical Degree Programme (EMDP) and 28 places on the Graduate Medical Program. It receives more applications for medicine than any other UK medical school and as of 2007 applicants were required to sit the UKCAT admission test.

At length they all to merry London came,
To merry London, my most kindly nurse,

    An house of ancient fame.
    Edmund Spenser (1552?–1599)

And so they have left us feeling tired and old.
They never cared for school anyway.
And they have left us with the things pinned on the bulletin board.

Hath yet a kind of medicine in itself,
That skins the vice o’ the top.
