Fonseca is married to athlete Juliana Posada. In February of 2010, Fonseca used his Twitter account to tell his fans that he and his wife were expecting a baby. When their daughter was born, he wrote to fans saying: "Nació mi hija a las 7.49 pm. Se llama Paz Fonseca Posada y es lo más lindo que he visto en mi vida/ My daughter was born at 7:49 pm. Her name is Paz Fonseca Posada and she is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen."
