54-71

"54-71" is a Hardcore / Experimental / Hip hop music group. Its members are "Horikawa Hiroyuki", "Kawaguchi Kentaro", "Sato Shingo", and "Takada Noriaki". In 1995, Kawaguchi and Sato started their musical activities together and by 1997, the current four members were performing together. 54-71 is known for the originality of their style as well as their intense live performances. Genre-defying and minimalistic, the music of 54-71 is identified by driving basslines, surgically precise drum parts, and poignantly restrained guitaring. Lyrically, 54-71 appears to draw great inspiration from American hip-hop artists; indeed, the band's only 2009 release, "IDEA OF A MASTER PIECE", was a collaboration with Kool Keith. Sato is strikingly versatile as a front man and has incorporated many different vocal approaches throughout the band's career.
