Program and Ideals
The ZTS is one of the few Scout associations that is still influenced by the ideas of Ernest Thompson Seton and his Woodcraft movement.
The Scout emblem dates from the Yugoslav era and incorporates a Scout campfire and a Woodcraft tepee on three pine trees in the shape of Slovenia’s highest mountain Triglav, the Slovene national symbol.
ZTS is divided in five age sections:
- Murni (Pre Cub Scouts) - younger than 7
- Medvedki in Čebelice (Cub Scouts) - ages 7 to 11
- Gozdovniki in Gozdovnice (Scouts) - ages 11 to 16
- Popotniki in Popotnice (Venture Scouts) - ages 16 to 21
- Grče - 21 and older

Famous quotes containing the words program and/or ideals:
“He believes without reservation that Kentucky is the garden spot of the world, and is ready to dispute with anyone who questions his claim. In his enthusiasm for his State he compares with the Methodist preacher whom Timothy Flint heard tell a congregation that Heaven is a Kentucky of a place.”
—For the State of Kentucky, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
“We want our children to become warm, decent human beings who reach out generously to those in need. We hope they find values and ideals to give their lives purpose so they contribute to the world and make it a better place because they have lived in it. Intelligence, success, and high achievement are worthy goals, but they mean nothing if our children are not basically kind and loving people.”
—Neil Kurshan (20th century)
