Response
The préfecture of Moselle had made a "White plan" (an emergency plan) to organise the response. Hundreds of French and Luxembourger rescue workers were marshalled:
- Around 100 militia of the French National Gendarmerie,
- 150 French and Luxembourger firefighters
- 50 emergency vehicles
- 7 French and Luxembourger vehicle extrication units.
The "Red plan" was lifted two days after the accident, shortly after the sixth and last victim had been extricated.

Famous quotes containing the word response:
“Parents accepting attitudes can help children learn to be open and tolerant. Parents can explain unfamiliar behavior or physical handicaps and show children that the appropriate response to differences should be interest rather than revulsion.”
—Dian G. Smith (20th century)
“Perhaps nothing is so depressing an index of the inhumanity of the male-supremacist mentality as the fact that the more genial human traits are assigned to the underclass: affection, response to sympathy, kindness, cheerfulness.”
—Kate Millet (b. 1934)
“Perhaps nothing in all my business has helped me more than faith in my fellow man. From the very first I felt confident that I could trust the great, friendly public. So I told it quite simply what I thought, what I felt, what I was trying to do. And the response was quick, sure, and immediate.”
—Alice Foote MacDougall (18671945)
