Zou Language - Geographical Extent

Geographical Extent

The geographical extension of the language group is at its largest extent a territory of approximately 60,000 square miles (160,000 km2) in size, in Burma, India and Bangladesh. However exact geographical, and linguistic, extension is debated, such as by the Zomi National Congress claiming Thado language as part of Zomi language in the argument for a Zomi identity and a Zo homestate, "Zogam".

Famous quotes containing the words geographical and/or extent:

While you are divided from us by geographical lines, which are imaginary, and by a language which is not the same, you have not come to an alien people or land. In the realm of the heart, in the domain of the mind, there are no geographical lines dividing the nations.
    Anna Howard Shaw (1847–1919)

Science and technology multiply around us. To an increasing extent they dictate the languages in which we speak and think. Either we use those languages, or we remain mute.
    —J.G. (James Graham)
