History
After the release of the 2001 album Zoom, Jeff Lynne announced a North American tour, their first live set of concerts in fifteen years. A promotional PBS show was recorded over two consecutive nights at CBS Television City in Los Angeles.
ELO's management abruptly cancelled the tour (due to slow ticket sales) and this footage was released on VHS and DVD by Image Entertainment.
The live line-up of the group was very different from the group that last toured in the eighties with only Richard Tandy surviving along with ELO leader Jeff Lynne.
Three songs from the concerts, "Sweet Talkin' Woman", "Rock 'n' Roll Is King" and "All She Wanted" along with pre-show soundchecks "Twilight", "Secret Messages" and "Confusion" are unreleased, they will reportedly show up on the CD release ELO Live! coming in 2013 from ELO's website elo.biz

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“So in accepting the leading of the sentiments, it is not what we believe concerning the immortality of the soul, or the like, but the universal impulse to believe, that is the material circumstance, and is the principal fact in this history of the globe.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“All history becomes subjective; in other words there is properly no history, only biography.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Modern Western thought will pass into history and be incorporated in it, will have its influence and its place, just as our body will pass into the composition of grass, of sheep, of cutlets, and of men. We do not like that kind of immortality, but what is to be done about it?”
—Alexander Herzen (18121870)
