Zograf Monastery - Honour

Honour

Zograf Peak on Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica is named after the Zograf Monastery.

The monastery and its seal are depicted on the obverse of the Bulgarian 2 levs banknote, issued in 1999 and 2005.

On March 21, 2011, the Bulgarian National Bank issued a commemorative silver coin with nominal value of 10 levs featuring the monastery.

Famous quotes containing the word honour:

    When other Ladies to the Shades go down,
    Still Flavia, Chloris, Celia stay in Town;
    Those Ghosts of Beauty ling’ring there abide,
    And haunt the places where their Honour dy’d.
    Alexander Pope (1688–1744)

    The gentlemen [at a ball], as they passed and repassed, looked as if they thought we were quite at their disposal, and only waiting for the honour of their commands; and they sauntered about, in a careless indolent manner, as if with a view to keep us in suspense.... I thought it so provoking, that I determined in my own mind that, far from humouring such airs, I would rather not dance at all.
    Frances Burney (1752–1840)

    Alack-o-day, replied the corporal ... your honour knows I have neither wife or child—I can have no sorrows in this world.
    Laurence Sterne (1713–1768)
