History

ZogSports founder Robert Herzog witnessed his office on the 96th floor of World Trade 1 being struck by a plane on September 11, 2001. The tragedy forced Herzog to reevaluate his life and draw from the positives. He thoroughly enjoyed playing in sports leagues and had even met his wife playing softball. In September 2002, Herzog launched ZogSports as a 32-team weekend football league. The company has expanded to include leagues for 13 sports. Since 2002 ZogSports has donated over $1,000,000 to various charities. ZogSports has also expanded to the Northern New Jersey area with a dodgeball league that launched in January 2006. The New Jersey branch offers the same leagues at the New York branch, in areas including Hoboken, Newark, Jersey City, Montclair, and the Meadowlands Bubble.

In 2007, ZogSports expanded to Brooklyn and Queens where they offer dodgeball, touch football, 3-on-3 Basketball, Outdoor Soccer, and kickball.

In 2010, ZogSports expanded to Washington, DC where volleyball, dodgeball, and football are offered.

In 2011, Hartford, CT was added starting with a football league and adding volleyball in 2012.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

Considered in its entirety, psychoanalysis won’t do. It’s an end product, moreover, like a dinosaur or a zeppelin; no better theory can ever be erected on its ruins, which will remain for ever one of the saddest and strangest of all landmarks in the history of twentieth-century thought.
    Peter B. Medawar (1915–1987)

The History of the world is not the theatre of happiness. Periods of happiness are blank pages in it, for they are periods of harmony—periods when the antithesis is in abeyance.
    Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770–1831)

We know only a single science, the science of history. One can look at history from two sides and divide it into the history of nature and the history of men. However, the two sides are not to be divided off; as long as men exist the history of nature and the history of men are mutually conditioned.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)
