Zlatan
Zlatan is a male given name of South-Slavic origin meaning Golden. It is common amongst all South Slavic countries in the Balkans, namely Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Macedonia and Serbia. The name is found in particularly high frequencies in Bosnia because it is considered ethnically "neutral" amongst the three dominant Bosnian ethnicities: Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats. The name is derived from the South-Slavic word zlato - from the Old-Slavic root *zolto (gold). The ancient form of the name is Zoltan, which is still preserved in some non-Slavic countries like Hungary. (Notes: according to the Wikipedia article Zoltán, the Hungarian name originates from the old Turkish/Arabic word Sultan, thus completely unrelated to Zlatan. This is also reinforced by the fact that Hungarian tribes made contact with the Turks centuries before they met the Slavs.)
