“Young people of high school age can actually feel themselves changing. Progress is almost tangible. Its exciting. It stimulates more progress. Nevertheless, growth is not constant and smooth. It was great; the proverb was known to us: it had been replaced that year among men of high worth by this other: Whoever sows the wind reaps the storm, which had needed some rest since it was not as indefatigable and hardy as, Working for the King of Prussia.”
—Marcel Proust (18711922)
“Love goes toward love as schoolboys from their books,
But love from love, toward school with heavy looks.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
