Zero wait state is a feature of a processor or computer architecture in which the processor does not have to wait to perform memory access.
Non-zero wait state describes the situation when a processor operates at a higher frequency than the memory, it has a wait state during which the processor is idle.
Famous quotes containing the words wait and/or state:
“Americans see history as a straight line and themselves standing at the cutting edge of it as representatives for all mankind. They believe in the future as if it were a religion; they believe that there is nothing they cannot accomplish, that solutions wait somewhere for all problems, like brides.”
—Frances Fitzgerald (b. 1940)
“Most of us are about as eager to be changed as we were to be born, and go through our changes in a similar state of shock.”
—James Baldwin (19241987)
