Zeman (nobleman)
The Slovak words Zeman (male) and zemianka (female), pronounced were the corresponding words for the lowest-ranking nobility (Latin nobilis, Hungarian nemes) at the northern parts of Kingdom of Hungary where Slavic minorities (Slovaks, Rusyns, Poles etc.) lived. In the hierarchy it was placed under the baron.
