ZEGG (band)
ZEGG is a Raleigh, North Carolina based jam band formed in 2004. Progressive, hypnotic, spontaneous, and sometimes quirky, ZEGG mixes jazz, rock, funk, reggae, bluegrass, and blues. ZEGG's influences include Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, The Allman Brothers, The Talking Heads, Phish, Dave Matthews Band and others.
While "ZEGG" is not officially an acronym for anything, the band's members have jokingly stated at various times that it stands for "Zero Excuses Get Groovin'," "Zippos Emptied on Green Ganja," "Zebras Eat Green Grass," and "Zombies Eagerly Gobble Guts."
The band released its debut CD "The Ride" in 2006. They are currently working on a new album slated to be released in early 2009.
