On 11 April 2008, Zavvi's Oxford Street outlet won the MCV Industry Excellence Star Store award for its "fine retail experience". On 15 January 2009, a survey published by Verdict Research found that Zavvi was the UK's third favourite music and video retailer, behind first place Amazon.com and Play.com who came second.
