She's also known to be a distant relative of fellow beauty pageant contestant Michelle Aldana, which also happens to be a Mutya ng Pilipinas holder. One of Zara's recognitions was when she took home the Ms. STI College International and Bb. Las Piñas crown in 2006 and was granted full scholarship to college.
She's popularly known from joining the Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 2. She played for the St. Camillus Medhaven in Marikina City. She also recently became a part of the ABS-CBN's version of Wheel of Fortune as a puzzle assistant along with Jasmine Fitzgerald.
