Famous quotes containing the word friends:
“Oh, Scott, for people like you and me the world can be a wonderful place. The skys as blue as it is for the giants, the friends are as warm.”
—Richard Matheson (b. 1926)
“But in our experience, man is cheap and friendship wants its deep sense. We affect to dwell with our friends in their absence, but we do not; when deed, word, or letter comes not, they let us go.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“The friends thou hast, and their adoption tried,
Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel;
But do not dull thy palm with entertainment
Of each new-hatched, unfledged comrade. Beware
Of entrance to a quarrel; but being in,
Beart that the opposed may beware of thee.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
