Personal Life
Zach and his wife Kim have been married for 26 years and have a son Weston Wamp, a small businessman in Chattanooga, and a daughter, Coty, a law student at the University of Tennessee. In 2012, Weston attempted to win his father's old seat from incumbent Chuck Fleischmann, but lost in the Republican primary.
In April 2003, the Associated Press reported that Wamp was one of six congressman living at C Street Center, a Capitol Hill townhouse subsidized by The Family, a national Christian organization. On July 10, 2009, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported that Wamp admitted in an interview that he and his fellow residents at C Street all pledged that they won't talk about their private living arrangements, adding that he intends to honor that pledge. When Rachel Maddow reported the story on her show, Wamp complained, but the Knoxville News Sentinel reported that Wamp didn't call them to correct his comment. Maddow responded strongly to Wamp's complaints on air.

Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or life:
“In the weakness of one kind of authority, and in the fluctuation of all, the officers of an army will remain for some time mutinous and full of faction, until some popular general, who understands the art of conciliating the soldiery, and who possesses the true spirit of command, shall draw the eyes of all men upon himself. Armies will obey him on his personal account. There is no other way of securing military obedience in this state of things.”
—Edmund Burke (17291797)
“Parents are led to believe that they must be consistent, that is, always respond to the same issue the same way. Consistency is good up to a point but your child also needs to understand context and subtlety . . . much of adult life is governed by context: what is appropriate in one setting is not appropriate in another; the way something is said may be more important than what is said. . . .”
—Stanley I. Greenspan (20th century)
