Yumoto Station - Surrounding Area

Surrounding Area

Exiting Yumoto Station, there are numerous small stores, including a convenience store called Wai Wai Shop, small souvenir shops, various snack bars and restaurants. There is also a foot onsen (ashi-yu, 足湯) outside and to the right of the station. The bus station is located right outside the station. Buses can take you around the general area of Yumoto and to Spa Resort Hawaiians. There are many onsen and ryokan (Japanese-style inns) located within a 10-15 walk of the station, including the famous Sahako-no-Yu (さはこの湯).

Exit the station and take the stairs over the railroad tracks, and there is Route 6, the main road that cuts through Iwaki City. Iwaki Coal and Fossil Museum (Sekitan-Kaseki-kan, 石炭化石館) is about a 10-15 minute walk from this stair case (in the direction of Taira). There are also buses here that can take you to other parts of Iwaki (Onahama and Taira).

Famous quotes containing the words surrounding and/or area:

Formerly, when lying awake at midnight in those woods, I had listened to hear some words or syllables of their language, but it chanced that I listened in vain until I heard the cry of the loon. I have heard it occasionally on the ponds of my native town, but there its wildness is not enhanced by the surrounding scenery.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Prosperous farmers mean more employment, more prosperity for the workers and the business men of ... every industrial area in the whole country.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
