When She Was High School Student
Kumakura played the World Youth Women's Volleyball Championship in 1995 as a Japanese representative (with Yoshie Takeshita, Hiromi Suzuki, Miyuki Mori, and Makiko Horai). Her team won the championship. Kumakura said to Mori, "I was spiked by Valentina Borrelli (an Italian left-handed player who spiked a ball very near on net in a pre-championship, Japan, Italy, Cuba, and Russia)". And "Although Franco (an Italian player), is left-handed, hits a ball center comparatively".

Famous quotes containing the words when she, high, school and/or student:
“What I would like to give my daughter is freedom. And this is something that must be given by example, not by exhortation. Freedom is a loose leash, a license to be different from your mother and still be loved. . . . Freedom is . . . not insisting that your daughter share your limitations. Freedom also means letting your daughter reject you when she needs to and come back when she needs to. Freedom is unconditional love.”
—Erica Jong (20th century)
“They talk about their Pilgrim blood,
Their birthright high and holy!
A mountain-stream that ends in mud
Methinks is melancholy.”
—James Russell Lowell (18191891)
“What a wise and good parent will desire for his own children a nation must desire for all children.”
—Consultative Committee On The Prima. Report of the Consultative Committee on the Primary School (HADOW)
“Beauty, like all other qualities presented to human experience, is relative; and the definition of it becomes unmeaning and useless in proportion to its abstractness. To define beauty not in the most abstract, but in the most concrete terms possible, not to find a universal formula for it, but the formula which expresses most adequately this or that special manifestation of it, is the aim of the true student of aesthetics.”
—Walter Pater (18391894)
