Young Muslims Canada

Young Muslims Canada is an Islamic organization working among the Muslim youth of Canada. Formed in 1994, Young Muslims Canada is one of the largest Muslim youth groups in Canada.

Young Muslims Canada offers inclusive educational, developmental, and recreational activities for Muslim youth to address their spiritual, social, educational, and civic engagement needs. Through their programs and activities Young Muslims Canada wants to nurture God-conscious Muslim youth who are outstanding contributors to Canadian society.

The organization has its roots originally in the global Islamic movement that takes its ideology from Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, Hassan al Banna, Sayyid Qutb, Khurram Murad, Yusuf al-Qaradawi and others. Young Muslims Canada aims to instil hope, self-esteem, confidence, and civic responsibility in Muslim youth by embracing the Islamic values of integrity, excellence, and compassion.

Famous quotes containing the words young and/or canada:

Just as the archetype of the supermom—the woman who can do it all—minimizes the real needs of women, so too the archetype of the “superkid” minimizes the real needs of children. It makes it all right to treat a young child as if he or she were older.
    Arlie Hochschild (20th century)

I see Canada as a country torn between a very northern, rather extraordinary, mystical spirit which it fears and its desire to present itself to the world as a Scotch banker.
    Robertson Davies (b. 1913)
