Young Black Brotha (album)

Young Black Brotha (album)

Young Black Brotha is the 1993 debut LP by Mac Dre, not to be confused with an earlier Mac Dre release, Young Black Brotha (EP). The album contains several new recordings as well as most of the recordings of What's Really Going On? and a couple of tracks from Back N' Da Hood including an extended version of "My Chevy" featuring Mac Mall. Some of Mac Dre's vocals were recorded over the phone from prison, after being incarcerated for a string of bank robberies in 1992.

Famous quotes containing the words young and/or black:

In the early forties and fifties almost everybody “had about enough to live on,” and young ladies dressed well on a hundred dollars a year. The daughters of the richest man in Boston were dressed with scrupulous plainness, and the wife and mother owned one brocade, which did service for several years. Display was considered vulgar. Now, alas! only Queen Victoria dares to go shabby.
    M. E. W. Sherwood (1826–1903)

A great black presence beats its wings in wrath.
Above the boneyard burn its golden eyes.
Some small grey fur is pulsing in its grip.
    Anthony Hecht (b. 1923)
