Song Information
"You My Girl" was released in the fall of 2002. Although the song never caught on like her previous smash "My Neck, My Back (Lick It)", it was maybe the tenderest, most real, and best-written song of the album. It is about Khia's deceased mother and her struggle to live without her. The lyrics tell about Khia's mother struggle during her unknown illness, "To your friends and your kins / even sick didn't quit / What's the thanks that you get for the time that you spent / Raising kids paying bills talking shit paying rent." "You My Girl" was released to radio in October 2002 but failed miserably.

Famous quotes containing the words song and/or information:
“Theres nothing that makes you so aware of the improvisation of human existence as a song unfinished. Or an old address book.”
—Carson McCullers (19171967)
“So while it is true that children are exposed to more information and a greater variety of experiences than were children of the past, it does not follow that they automatically become more sophisticated. We always know much more than we understand, and with the torrent of information to which young people are exposed, the gap between knowing and understanding, between experience and learning, has become even greater than it was in the past.”
—David Elkind (20th century)
