Yoshiaki Murakami

Yoshiaki Murakami (村上 世彰, Murakami Yoshiaki?, born August 11, 1959 in Osaka) is a Japanese investor known for highly publicized corporate raid. He was the founder and the former president of M&A Consulting, Inc., usually known as the "Murakami fund".

He was formerly associated with Livedoor and was indicted in the scandal involving securities law violations.

He was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 3 million yen and a record 1.15 billion yen surcharge for insider trading in 2004 and 2005, but is currently on bail while further appeals are pending.
