Yonesaka Line

The Yonesaka Line (米坂線, Yonesaka-sen?) is a rail line in Japan. Part of the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) system, it runs from Yonezawa Station in Yamagata Prefecture to Sakamachi Station in Niigata Prefecture. At Yonezawa, connections to the Yamagata Shinkansen and Ōu Main Line can be made; while the Uetsu Main Line connects at Sakamachi Station.

The line takes its name from the first kanji of Yonezawa (沢?) and Sakamachi (町?).

Famous quotes containing the word line:

The real dividing line between early childhood and middle childhood is not between the fifth year and the sixth year—it is more nearly when children are about seven or eight, moving on toward nine. Building the barrier at six has no psychological basis. It has come about only from the historic-economic-political fact that the age of six is when we provide schools for all.
