In Fiction
In Luo Guanzhong's historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Yi Ji has the courtesy name Jibo (機伯) instead, and was described to be originally a strategist serving under Liu Biao until he secretly went against his master to warn Liu Bei about the "hex mark" horse and the assassination plot of Cai Mao. Following the death of Liu Biao, Yi Ji officially became a subject of Liu Bei.

Famous quotes containing the word fiction:
“A reader who quarrels with postulates, who dislikes Hamlet because he does not believe that there are ghosts or that people speak in pentameters, clearly has no business in literature. He cannot distinguish fiction from fact, and belongs in the same category as the people who send cheques to radio stations for the relief of suffering heroines in soap operas.”
—Northrop Frye (b. 1912)
