Residents' Association
Residents in Yew Lian Park has been served by a Residents' Association since the 1970s. The Association organises regular events for members including annual dinners, lantern festive celebrations, bonding night and excursions. These activities provide opportunity for residents to get to know each other and to build community spirit.
The Association chooses a charitable organisation each year and presents gifts of groceries and cash collected from residents.
The Association also serves as a channel of dialogue and coorporation between members of the Association and government departments. Issues of security, public health (e.g. minimizing risk of dengue occurrence), illegal parking of cars and maintenance of road-side trees are resolved with appropriate agencies through this channel. The Association also links up with other communities in the neighbourhood to mutually resolve issues that arise from time to time.
