In 2009, the entire yeshiva was closed down for two days due to a confirmed case of swine flu.
The yeshiva was also in the news when a fire in a nearby home caused the evacuation of the yeshiva, and three students, along with their teacher, Rabbi Yigal Abramchik, saved the lives of a woman and her child.
