Yes! Pre Cure 5

Yes! Pre Cure 5

Yes! PreCure 5 (Yes! プリキュア5, Yesu! PuriKyua Faibu?, Lit. "Yes! Pretty Cure 5") is a Japanese anime series and both the fourth and fifth Pretty Cure installments by Izumi Todo, comprising the original series and its sequel, Yes! PreCure 5 GoGo! (Yes! プリキュア5 GoGo!, Yesu! PuriKyua Faibu GoGo!?, Lit. "Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!"), or simply GoGo!, both produced by Toei Animation. Both series were directed by Toshiaki Komura, who previously directed Kinnikuman Nisei and written by Yoshimi Narita, who wrote the script for the anime Beet the Vandel Buster. The character designs were done by Toshie Kawamura, who later worked on the character designs for Smile PreCure!. The 5 in the title refers to the fact that this Pretty Cure team has five members. The series has also been serialized in Kodansha's monthly Nakayoshi magazine.

The series has made use of butterflies as the main theme, also to the extent that the girls transform with the phrase "Pretty Cure, Metamorphose!"; which refers back to the butterfly theme. In GoGo!, however, roses are used as its primary theme as well. Both series do not seem to take place in a modern Japanese city knowing that they both take place in Upper East Side in New York City, and make references to many words and phrases in French.

Famous quotes containing the word cure:

    Then whisper by that holy spring,
    Where for her sake I would have died,
    Whilst those water-nymphs did bring
    Flowers to cure what she had tried;
    And of my faith and love did sing.
    Henry Vaughan (1622–1695)
