Dance
Dance at YBCA includes various forms from many various cultures. In October 2008, Israeli choreographers Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak presented their production of "Shaker" by combining ballet, modern dance, mime, and acrobatic techniques. In addition to more collaborative art forms, YBCA also presents more classical forms of dance, such as ballet. Alonzo King held his show Lines at YBCA in November 2004, which centered around African American field recordings with various forms of music, narrative, and film playing in the background.

Famous quotes containing the word dance:
“How do you expect to learn to dance when you have not even learned to walk! And above the dancer is still the flyer and his bliss.”
—Friedrich Nietzsche (18441900)
“The only dance masters I could have were Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Walt Whitman and Nietzsche.”
—Isadora Duncan (18781927)
“The things a man has to have are hope and confidence in himself against odds, and sometimes he needs somebody, his pal or his mother or his wife or God, to give him that confidence. Hes got to have some inner standards worth fighting for or there wont be any way to bring him into conflict. And he must be ready to choose death before dishonor without making too much song and dance about it. Thats all there is to it.”
—Clark Gable (19011960)
