Yehuda Hanani (Hebrew: יהודה חנני) is an Israeli-American cellist. He is a Professor of Violoncello at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and an international soloist and master class teacher. Hanani studied with Leonard Rose at Juilliard and with Pablo Casals.
At the age of 19, Hanani was taken to the United States from Israel by Leonard Bernstein. Bernstein was in the country to guest conduct with the Israel Philharmonic, and heard Hanani perform. Bernstein had to personally write a letter to the head of the Israeli armed forces in order to secure Hanani's release from the army.
