Later Life and Friendship With Ben-Gurion

After the assassination, Cohen was one of the founders of the Sde Boker kibbutz, established in 1952. The kibbutz later became home to David Ben-Gurion, the former Prime Minister of Israel, in 1956. At Sde Boker, Cohen became Ben-Gurion's unofficial bodyguard and confidant, and the two grew very close. Famous quotes containing the words life and/or friendship:

One’s prime is elusive. You little girls, when you grow up, must be on the alert to recognize your prime at whatever time of your life it may occur. You must then live it to the full.
    Muriel Spark (b. 1918)

For when we must resign our vital breath,
    Our Loves by Fate benighted,
We by this friendship shall survive in death,
    Even in divorce united.
Weak Love through fortune or distrust
    In time forgets to burn,
But this pursues us to the Urn,
    And marries either’s Dust.
    Thomas Stanley (1625–1678)
