Cultural Activities
The students of this University are not deprived of opportunities to exhibit their talents in cultural activities. In order to provide them a platform to show their skill and art, youth festivals are organized every year at eight Regional Centers and the students of the Study Centres of the respective regions participate in programmes like One Act Play, Folk Dance, Singing, Fine Arts, etc. The student artists who show excellence and skill are invited to participate in the University level Youth Festival. The students who win laurels at the University level Youth Festival are further given an opportunity to represent the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University in the Inter-University Youth Festival called ‘Indra-dhanushaya’. The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University has been entrusted with the responsibility of organising ‘Indra-dhanushaya’ 2008 at Nashik.

Famous quotes containing the words cultural and/or activities:
“Unfortunately there is still a cultural stereotype that its all right for girls to be affectionate but that once boys reach six or seven, they no longer need so much hugging and kissing. What this does is dissuade boys from expressing their natural feelings of tenderness and affection. It is important that we act affectionately with our sons as well as our daughters.”
—Stephanie Martson (20th century)
“The most remarkable aspect of the transition we are living through is not so much the passage from want to affluence as the passage from labor to leisure.... Leisure contains the future, it is the new horizon.... The prospect then is one of unremitting labor to bequeath to future generations a chance of founding a society of leisure that will overcome the demands and compulsions of productive labor so that time may be devoted to creative activities or simply to pleasure and happiness.”
—Henri Lefebvre (b. 1901)
