Campaigns
Yang Lin becomes one of the leaders of the Liangshan calvary after the Grand Assembly. He follows the heroes on their campaigns against the Liao invaders and rebel forces after they have been granted amnesty by the emperor.
During the Fang La campaign, Yang Lin follows Mu Hong to conduct an espionage mission in the enemy city of Runzhou and achieves success. After the capture of Hangzhou, Yang Lin falls ill and remains there until he recovers and does not participate in the subsequent battles. He returns to the capital with the surviving heroes after the victory over Fang La. He declines the emperor's offer to make him an official in recognition of his contributions to the nation. He returns to Yinma River together with Pei Xuan.

Famous quotes containing the word campaigns:
“That food has always been, and will continue to be, the basis for one of our greater snobbisms does not explain the fact that the attitude toward the food choice of others is becoming more and more heatedly exclusive until it may well turn into one of those forms of bigotry against which gallant little committees are constantly planning campaigns in the cause of justice and decency.”
—Cornelia Otis Skinner (19011979)
