Television, Film and Radio
"Yakety Sax" is often used in television and film as a soundtrack for outlandishly humorous situations. It was frequently used to accompany comedic sketches in the ITV comedy program The Benny Hill Show, where it accompanied otherwise silent, rapidly paced comedy sequences typically involving a farcical chase scene. The song is so closely linked to the show, it is commonly referred to as "The Benny Hill song".
This use of the piece, and the chase scenes themselves, have been parodied in many other movies and TV shows, including the 2006 British film, V for Vendetta and the animated TV show Family Guy. The Comedy Central animated program South Park also used the piece in one episode.
The song was used for an award-winning UK radio commercial.
This song is also used as a bumper theme to The Joe B. and Denny Show on WKRD-AM.

—Katharine Hepburn (b. 1909)
“Now they can do the radio in so many languages that nobody any longer dreams of a single language, and there should not any longer be dreams of conquest because the globe is all one, anybody can hear everything and everybody can hear the same thing, so what is the use of conquering.”
