Xtreme Pro Wrestling

Xtreme Pro Wrestling (XPW) is an independent professional wrestling promotion formerly owned by Extreme Associates CEO and director Rob Zicari, who appeared on shows under the name Rob Black. Zicari appeared on-camera as owner alongside his wife Lizzy Borden. The promotion focuses on hardcore wrestling, and under Zicari, had connections to the Los Angeles porn industry. From 2000 to 2002, XPW held an annual deathmatch tournament called Baptized in Blood.

XPW was originally based in California, where controversy and X-rated content were of huge importance. In 2002, Shane Douglas returned to XPW, and the "All-New XPW" was relocated in Pennsylvania. Thanks to promotional efforts on the part of Shane Douglas and Cody Michaels, the East Coast invasion featured XPW garnering some success in cities like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Big Vision Entertainment held a second XPW reunion show in August 2009.

Famous quotes containing the words pro and/or wrestling:

The upbeat lawyer/negotiator of preadolescence has become a real pro by now—cynical, shrewd, a tough cookie. You’re constantly embroiled in a match of wits. You’re exhausted.
    Ron Taffel (20th century)

We laugh at him who steps out of his room at the very moment when the sun steps out, and says: “I will the sun to rise”; and at him who cannot stop the wheel, and says: “I will it to roll”; and at him who is taken down in a wrestling match, and says: “I lie here, but I will that I lie here!” And yet, all laughter aside, do we ever do anything other than one of these three things when we use the expression, “I will”?
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)
