Xothic Legend Cycle - Stories

Stories

Each story is set in the early 20th century and is told from the point of view of a scholarly narrator. Each narrator in turn becomes the protagonist of the next story in the series.

The entire Xothic Legend cycle (including a prologue) was collected in The Xothic Legend Cycle from Chaosium. A full synopsis of all these stories (readable as one whole story) is available on this site: http://web.archive.org/web/20070819204407/http://geocities.com/vadyanclique/xothic.html (GeoCities is gone, so found on web archive)

Famous quotes containing the word stories:

    Though Margery is stricken dumb
    If thrown in Madge’s way,
    We three make up a solitude;
    For none alive to-day
    Can know the stories that we know
    Or say the things we say....
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

    Long before I wrote stories, I listened for stories. Listening for them is something more acute than listening to them. I suppose it’s an early form of participation in what goes on. Listening children know stories are there. When their elders sit and begin, children are just waiting and hoping for one to come out, like a mouse from its hole.
    Eudora Welty (b. 1909)

    I am surprised at the way people seem to perceive me, and sometimes I read stories and hear things about me and I go “ugh.” I wouldn’t like her either. It’s so unlike what I think I am or what my friends think I am.
    Hillary Rodham Clinton (b. 1947)
